Teacher Training

Teacher Teaching Observation

YunTech’s teaching observation mechanism aims to implement a cycling mechanism for teaching quality assurance. The goal is to allow outstanding or excellent teachers to provide on-site class observation to serve as clear and specific teaching and learning reference models and make good use of the school’s existing teaching resources to improve teaching quality and student learning performance. However, the number of teachers participating in on-site class observation has dropped significantly due to COVID-19.

Teacher Community BOT
YunTech has organized teachers’ co-learning activities to promote exchanges, improve familiarity, promote professional and intellectual growth, and encourage teachers to form a community spontaneously. After the teacher community system is launched, teachers can recommend and lead each other and operate independently to run teacher learning activities. A total of 14 teacher communities have been established, with 178 participating teachers (42.2% of all teachers in the school). The goal is to let teachers get to know each other and exchange teaching experience in the community.

Employee Training

YunTech provides education and training courses for executives every year. The training courses cover professional growth, core functions, career development, management capabilities, policies, and statutory and democratic governance values. A multi-learning model has also been adopted for education and training based on the professional division of labor operation system. Campus education and training shall be handled independently by each unit according to its powers and responsibilities. In addition to participating in various types of physical courses, employees can also participate in online digital learning courses. Employee must attend 20 business-related study hours each year, of which 10 hours are courses on major current government policies, statutory training, and democratic governance values. It is comarable to the minimum number of study hours per year for School Affairs Fund staff. All departments’ teachers are Ph.D. holders with extensive academic backgrounds who prioritize teaching and research as their primary responsibilities. The employees in the statistics are administrative employee (including scheduled and school fund employee, excluding police officers, teaching assistants, and coworkers). The source of statistical data came from the 2021 education and training hours uploaded by the “Civil Service Lifelong Learning Network” (including digital learning and physical courses inside and outside the school). The school has organized a total of 83 education and training sessions.

The data source is the training hours uploaded by the Civil Service Lifelong Learning Portal. The education and training sessions are primarily provided under the personnel office’s jurisdiction. The employee calculation subjects are limited to employee within the establishment (including rare scientific and technological personnel, excluding teaching assistants, police officers, and workers) and school fund employee based on the number of participants and the number of training participants uploaded on the Civil Service Lifelong Learning Portal. After statistics and pivot analysis of the total annual training hours for employees (classified by employee category or gender), the actual number of training participants is divided by the employee category or gender to obtain the average training hours by employee category or gender.

Safety and Health Training

The school’s safety and health work rules are revised and expanded to match the Occupational Safety and Health Act and related regulations. Most “employed laborers” are incorporated into the Occupational Safety and Health Act. The code of practice was amended and passed at the 3rd Occupational Safety and Health Committee meeting in 2019 and reported to the Central District Occupational Safety and Health Center of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the Ministry of Labor to complete the registration on September 4, 2019. The registration number is B108006043. The third Wednesday of each semester is set aside for health and safety education and training for new and in-service faculty members. The number of training sessions may be increased as needed. The goal is to create a culture of safety and hygiene through education and publicity promotions, improve faculty and employee health and safety, and strengthen concepts and skills to aid in disaster prevention and resilience. The Environmental Safety Technology Center conducts unscheduled laboratory inspections for each department. It requires audited units to improve audit results, strengthen campus safety and health performance, and maintain security, health, and pollution prevention awareness of colleagues’ and students’ safety, health, and pollution prevention. Note: The number of training sessions in 2021 was reduced due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, and the normal training schedule shall resume in 2022.
